Reston turns 50!
Join Us for a Year of Celebration!

This website is our virtual celebration, created to honor five decades of friendship and service.  We’ll update it throughout the year to share highlights from this, our 50th year.  We invite you to spend some time here exploring our history, photos, and videos celebrating this golden milestone.

Our President, Shani Hosten

Welcome to our Reston (VA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated's 50th Anniversary Virtual Experience.

For fifty years, the women of the Reston (VA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated have been committed to friendship, service, and leadership. Since our chartering on September 28, 1975, visionary women have come together to build bridges of understanding, create opportunities, and stand with our community in moments that mattered most.

Our story is one of courage, collaboration, and legacy. What began as a circle of women with a shared belief that friendship could change lives has blossomed into five decades of meaningful impact—shaping classrooms, clinics, and communities across Northern Virginia and beyond.

As we celebrate our Golden Anniversary, we honor every member who has worn the green and white with purpose. We are grateful for the partners, sponsors, and friends who have supported our mission through the years. Together, we continue to light the way forward—empowering the next generation of leaders and ensuring that our legacy of friendship and service shines brightly for decades to come.

Welcome to our Legacy of a Golden Jewel.  We will update this website throughout the year to commemorate and celebrate our 50th year.

With gratitude,
Shani W. Hosten, President

Our 50th Year Anniversary Committee

Together, we're creating legacy.

Since 1975, the Reston (VA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has advanced the mission to enrich, sustain, and ensure the cultural and economic well-being of African Americans and people of African ancestry.

Through our five program facets: Services to Youth, The Arts, National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services, and Health and Human Services  ~ we have built partnerships, uplifted communities, and celebrated excellence in leadership and service.

Our 50th Anniversary Celebration was a grand affair—a joyful reflection of the bonds that connect us and the legacy that continues to guide our work. We are deeply grateful for everyone who joined us, supported us, and helped make this milestone moment possible. 50 years have flown by, and we are just getting started.

Stay connected with us this year as we celebrate the entire year through increased service and significant impact.

With gratitude,
Shiree Monterio, 50th Anniversary Committee Chair
Courtney Holeman, 50th Anniversary Committee Co-Chair
Doris Brown, 50th Anniversary Committee Alumna Co-Chair
